As 2023 draws to a close, we give thanks for all the new and ongoing initiatives that you – and many others across the Communion - are taking to care for God’s precious world. We are hearing about activities of tree growing and ecosystem conservation, protection and restoration in all parts of the Anglican Communion.

Resources

Did you know we have a growing treasure trove of resources on our website? These include a liturgy and prayers for planting trees, a “How to Get Started on a new Communion Forest activity” guide and a visual guide to biodiversity.
 

We have also recently set up a Communion Forest YouTube channel, where you can find video recordings of the webinars we have held as well as reflective prayers. There are some wonderful short talks by contributors including Floyd Lalwet (Philippines), Archbishop Marinez (Brazil), Rachel Mash (South Africa) and others on trees and spirituality. And don’t miss Bishop Jean-Pierre Methode Rukondo’s inspiring testimony from Rwanda.

Partners

We have now embarked on a pilot project with Climate Stewards: Connecting Across the Communion: partners in carbon sequestration.

We continue to work with Restor, a powerful mapping tool that uses Google Earth, to help make Communion Forest activities visible. This is still a work in progress – more in the new year!
